Landmarks
Indian River Inlet Bridge
Stretching over 2,600 ft, the Indian River Inlet Bridge
was built as a response to the automobile boom
of the 1920’s. With more Delawareans having the
means to travel, the Army Core of Engineers
constructed jetties around the naturally shifting
inlet, fixing it in place and allowing for a bridge to
expand the newly constructed highway. The first
bridge was completed in 1934 and made of timber.
Over time it has evolved over 4 different iterations
into what you see today.

Salem Church
The origin of this church can be traced to the
organization of a local Methodist society soon after
the American Revolution. By 1790, the society was
joining regularly for worship, holding services in the
open air and in the homes of members.
The growth of the town of Selbyville and the
prosperity of the congregation resulted in the desire
for a new facility. Construction of the present church
